only 2 left. Im really torn as to what I should do with the next one especially the perspective. Other than that i've figured out the best color combinations and now all I need to do is perfect the color. I think my last project is near perfection, but I wasn't too satisfied with the wheel. I m not sure if I should add decals to it either. I don't want it to take precedence over everything else butit may be cool to make it look sportier. It may be cool to make a body kit for so that way there is a stock and racing version of the car. Once again if anyone has ideas let me know. I'll also try to get my recent works uploaded to my site as well

Well I finally finished the photoshop project and all I can say is that was an ordeal. Good thing I'm not that behind in my portfolio otherwise the tediousness of this could have kept me busy for another week but luckily I found a spot where I can say Im done. I now have three projects to go. The next one Is going to be a top down and side vew of my FINAL final design (this time I mean it im not changing it any further) As this car has grown it has become a type of BMW supercar (in my opinion, they could really use one) and its definately different so no its just about ready for submission and Im a little unsure as to what I should do for two more projects. Tips anyone?

spring break

the break hasn't really been all that great for making artwork. I have had no time what with all of the college preparation type things that I had to complete this weekend. Im only just a little behind so this week will be all catch up. Since were only a few weeks away from portfolio deadlines I really gotta get moving which means almost all of my off hours this week will probably be dedicated to art. Another thing is I really have to stop altering my design. Ive got just a few more alteration ideas so after that I need to just stick with it. As artists we are never satisfied and Im pretty sure that will be the case with this project.

Have you ever noticed that most cars have a certain trademark? Jeeps always have a seven slotted grill. Audis have the super bright LED headlights. BMW's have the very sharp curvy lights and two slot grill with little spacers inside them. Dodge vehicles always have grills split into four quadrants. I guess what Im trying to get at here, is I want a part of my car to be a trademark, but I also want it to be different enough so it cant be matched to any other car. Im almost done, I just need a few more additives to really make this car my own.
I think its safe to say that im starting to feel the pressure. I have what maybe eight pieces of the 12+ that need to be done by april 16th not to mention the artist's statement. All I have left is that I need to figure out my headlight design and grill which is surprisingly difficult. I really need to stop taking field trips and missing crucial days of school.

ugh i wish I had a picture of my next car. I think this looks so profesional that i could easily sell this. I have two last ideas for this project and that is widen the rear to where it wraps around the rear wheels and then change the headlights and maybe the tail lights. Its looking so cool and now I will probably embark on the journey that is drawing in photoshop. I have an idea as to what I'll do for it but its definately not gonna be easy. I've struggled with it in the past so if anyone has tips or trick of the trade let me know.

So the evolution idea is going very well. The car is starting to l0ok more and more like a real concept every day. The car is also getting harder and harder to explain. Since I dont really have a whole lot to say today but for the moment i'll leave you all with a few designs to take a look at...

5th concentration

i decided, that since it could get a little boring doing the same car over and over, i thought it'd be cool to modify it. I think doing ideations in design is an awesome way to really get a set of ideas transitioning into something you are 100 percent satisfied with. What ive decided to do is add some wierd side skirts that flare out from the car a little, more definition around the wheel wells and I decided to forego the futuristic lit up wheels for just classic rubber... it always looks best that way. Im still looking for ideas so if you have any let me know.

feeling no motivation today

have you ever had a time where you go to sit down and try to do a piece of art and just feel so lazy that you can't focus. Yea thats pretty much me today. I went to do my fourth piece and nothing... probably artists block. I hope i can get somethin going today, but if not tomorrow. I think i may get all my sketches done before i do the finished work. Ive decided that i'll do a one point perspective of the side of the car; its definately going to be tougher than it looks but hopefully it'll get done by the end of this weekend.

man i have come a long way since last week. From being totally frustrated to now being able to create an awesome supercar from my fingertips... Satisfaction. So far it's totally original with a front bumper that looks like a bugatti with scoops jutting from the grille to a rear that looks like a ferrari but 50 years into the future ( and yes we will get to 2060, because the 2012 armageddon is a joke) So far so good. I am totally enjoying this challenge and now that i've got all my basic ideas, i can begin modifying it. If anyone has any tips for me i'm open to suggestions.

freakin' out!

I am SO frustrated!!!! i know what I want my car to like like, but whenever I go to put it on paper, I cant seem to get the perspective right. It gets screwed up everytime, and I dont know why. The car is always disproportionate and it just doesn't look as good on paper as It did in my head. I am so confused and i'm in dire need of help if I have any hopes of getting this done in time for graduation...

I have just learned a ton about rendering through tutorials and it sounds to me like markers + pastel + gouache for highlights and lowlights sounds like the best way to make a car as realistic on a piece of paper as it is in real life. The chalk is often used for high contrast, smooth blending and a good sense of sky reflection. The markers should only be used for the brilliant actual color of the car and gouache should be used sparingly in order to show the very deep reflectiveness (usually for the little white glimmers you see from direct light sources. Now that I have figured out the design tools I'll be using, all I need to do now is figure out my design and then this project is going to start looking awesome. At this stage all I have is the Citroen GT for basic body design (its big and bad yet still seems to maintain a sporty look). Im still open to ideas.

Concept art gallery 1

Heres the first batch of cars found over the internet.

This right here is probably one of the best works by one of the best designers around, Chip Foose.

This is probably the coolest concept car I've ever seen. The basic body design could be a good way to start my own concept design.
